The 5mm retrieval bag is ideal for use in children because we hardly use trocars larger than 3–5mm. Even in neonates you can retrieve the specimen through the umbilical 5mm port without increasing the incision.

The LaproClose is a brilliant '2 in 1' device - the jaws make it much easier to grasp the suture, the guide is helpful for training and it is competitively priced!

I have been using the LaproSurge 3mm instruments for more than a year. I find the instruments ergonomic, reliable and also cost-effective. They can be used for a wide range of procedures. I use them for all minimally invasive procedures in children below the age of 5 years. I would recommend the product to others.

LaproSurge trocars have very good stability, excellent cost-effectiveness and they don’t have any problems of CO2 leakage.

Dr Maurizio Pavanello

Charities we support

We support a selection of charities that work towards goals that align with the values of LaproSurge. We are committed to giving back to the healthcare industry and supporting charitable causes within the sector.

Doctors in Distress

Doctors in Distress was founded in 2019 by Amandip Sidhu following the suicide of his brother Jagdip. Jagdip was a consultant cardiologist. He was overworked, burned out and felt he had nowhere to turn. He believed taking his life was the only answer.

They strongly believe in the power of talking and have set up peer support groups — spaces where healthcare workers can access support away from work and speak with other people experiencing the same stresses. Their groups are a place to share, to reflect, to receive advice and to support others.

They also work with decision makers to ensure that mental health support is prioritised for all healthcare workers. Whilst the stigma around talking about mental health remains, change will be limited. They are working with leaders to facilitate transformational change within the healthcare sector to support staff and reduce the stigma.

The David Nott Foundation

The David Nott Foundation’s core mission is to train doctors in countries impacted by conflict and catastrophe.

In 2015, David Nott, a consultant surgeon who has spent over 30 years volunteering his medical expertise in these areas, established the foundation with his wife Elly. The Foundation supports surgeons in developing their operating skills for war zones and austere environments and has now trained over 900 doctors through their bespoke Hostile Environment Surgical Training (HEST) course.

They urgently need help to train frontline doctors and make safe, skilled surgical care available to all. Donations help them grow their global network of life savers in the places where they are needed most, like Syria, Ukraine, Sudan, Yemen and Palestine.

West Herts Hospitals Charity

West Herts Hospitals Charity are dedicated to supporting patient care across our local West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

They believe that every patient deserves the highest quality care possible, whether it’s support through a pregnancy, care in an emergency, treatment for a long-term illness, or kindness in final days.

The charity’s staff in the Trust’s three hospitals can provide a level of patient care beyond that which would be possible with NHS funding alone. Charitable donations help fund the latest technology, environmental enhancements, staff development and extra comforts that make such a difference to patients, day after day.
